The Emerald Society world trade center trip will be Sunday, July 16th at 10am.

 
$50 per person includes bus ride into the city, admission to the One World Trade Observatory, and 2 free drink coupons at the top of the observatory. Members will be able to purchase their own tickets to the museum if wanted, everyone will qualify for different rates depending on if they are NYPD, 9/11 responders, veterans, etc.

 
Friends and family are welcome on this trip including the bus ride.

The next meeting of the Emerald Society will be 7pm Friday, June 16th 2017 at the Kismet Fire Department.

 
Ferries leave Bay Shore at 5:10pm or 6:45pm.
Return ferries leave Kismet 8:50pm or 10:30pm or 10:55pm.
Alternatively, if you park at Robert Moses Field 5 you can walk 1.7 miles (as per google maps) to Kismet.

 
Dinner is will be provided catered by the Kismet Inn with soda and water but members should bring their own refreshments otherwise. I’ve been told your best bet is to bring yourself a small cooler as prices on the island are very expensive.

 

Congratulations to the Nissequogue FD who were the winners of this year’s Pot of Gold Raffle, and thank you to everyone who supported the event with donations for the Chinese auction and Fatty McGees for hosting!

This year we will be stepping off earlier than ever before, as such be sure to follow the parade rules of NO green hats or beads, wear your proper Class A uniform, and make a presentable appearance for the society. Some grand stand tickets are available for friends & family, contact Dan Gallagher if interested.

The bus is free for DUES PAID members. Bring your 2017 dues card or be prepared to pay. Guests without a dues card will be asked to contribute $25 on the bus.

On November 19, 2016 the Suffolk County Volunteer Firefighters’ Emerald Society will be holding its Dinner – Dance at the Central Islip Fire Department Headquarters: 97 Carleton Avenue, Central Islip, NY 11722.

On this occasion we will be honoring a member of the society Past Commissioner/Past Captain William “Billy” Theis of the Terryville Fire Department as our 2016 Irishman of the Year.

The SCVFES feels that Past Captain Theis has earned the honor of being named 2016 Irishman of the year for his dedication to the fire service and the community he has served for some many years.

At this Dinner we also are presenting our Valor and Achievement Awards:

The next meeting of the Emerald Society is Thursday June 23rd at the Kismet FD on Fire Island.

All attending must have paid their dues and ensure their name appears in the dues book as the society is going to have to pay per person for food at this meeting.

The 4th Annual Pot of Gold Party will be held Saturday March 26th, 2016. As in the past the party is being held at MJ Sullivans Pub (164 Route 25A Mount Sinai, New York 11766) and will feature free food, Chinese auctions, live music by Bangers and Mash and the drawing of our annual 50/50 raffle.

50/50 tickets can be purchased at an Emerald Society meeting, at the 2016 Buff Show, or online by visiting the Emerald Society online store.
